At the Pathology Department, we perform diverse tests on tissue samples (biopsies, surgical and post-mortem samples); secretions and body fluids, cytological and histological studies. Recently, we have introduced an mRNA hybridization procedure to determine the presence of the human papilloma virus, adjuvant of cervical cancer. This procedure is done together with the Pap smear, avoiding taking additional samples.
